Nighttime ramblings..

Well, I'll start off by saying I was quite frustrated to find my background & header had disappeared. I've fixed it now, of course, but still - where did they go! My new header is something I edited in picnik. Which - I LOVE. At the end of the post, I will add a few of the other pictures I did. I just adore them!

Today was Skyler's appointment - her 4month/6month appointment - ish. It's confusing - she was scheduled on the 1st, so right after she turned 5 months, but it got pushed back further. Anyhow - she is now 12lbs 8oz, 22.2 inches! She is still trying to work those teeth through. Some nights are okay - she will lay down and sleep really well. Others, she likes to scream & fuss & cry and there's just about NOTHING we can do for her. Poor thing. Tonight I was able to get her to sleep with only a bit of crying, and she has been out for about 5.5 hours now. She was tired to begin with this morning and the shots didn't help. She isn't sleeping through the night exactly. Most nights (but not all) she will get a good 5 hour stretch in, then it's about every 2-3 hours from there that she wakes up hungry. Some nights she doesn't get that stretch in, but that's okay. In theory I should be getting more sleep, but in reality I use that stretch (since it occurs when she is first going to bed) to relax with Jeremiah & playing some video games, watching a movie, etc. or waiting for him to get home & making dinner, etc. If I did end up going to bed with her, though, it'd be a nice chunk of sleep :).

Speaking of sleep - I'm tired. Think it is time to go already. Not a great update, but at least a little taste of what's been going on. And to top it off.. my fun with picnik.

Shhhh...

Ahh.. tonight as been a good night!! Skyler has been sleeping since I got home from work. Almost 4 hours - with a little snack in between. With teething, growth spurts, busy days and learning to fight sleep, some nights are rather difficult. But tonight is calm and peaceful, which is great considering Jeremiah won't be home from work until midnight. I love the little bugger but she sure can scream! Although, I do think the teething tablets have helped. These teeth have to come through eventually, right?

I haven't been able to catch up on other people's blogs yet, though I really want to! Hopefully on Tuesday. Next week we are going to Six Flags - it will be my first time going. I'm sure it'll be fun, but I'm worried about getting sun burn, even with SPF 5,000. The worst part is, I never burn & tan after.. just burn and back to pastey white!

Skyler has been smiling and talking up a storm lately. In the mornings I don't work, I ask her if she wants to wake up daddy - always a smile, sometimes cooing. She sure loves her daddy! She rolls over very well now but only when she feels like it. Sometimes she tries to drag herself across the floor, but she's not able to get up on her knees yet. She does stand very well with support, loves it in fact. She does attempt to sit up sometimes, it's quite hilarious. She will be in her carseat, grab onto her straps, lean her head forward, willing herself to move upright on her own. Too cute! She is well into 11lbs now, and will know a more accurate number on weight and an updated number on length on the 29th. Her doctor's office must be busy - her July 1st appointment got moved to the 8th, which got canceled and now is rescheduled for the 29th with a different doctors - ugh. She will now be getting her 4month shots when she is a few days shy of 6months. I'm a little nervous about this, but there isn't much I can do, I suppose. Not too much different than if she was to get her shots at her adjusted age, rather than actual. My first experience with this doctor we are seeing was not entirely pleasant, though I hope this will be better. We were squeezed in when she had a tinsy bit of a cold, so I'm sure he was just rushed. Here's to hoping he's as good as our regular doctor when it comes to making sure all is well with our special not-so-little-anymore Skyler.

Ahh.. the quiet. Must enjoy it while it's here.

Catching up - sorta.

Hoooolyyyyy cow. I'm sure behind! I can't believe how fast a day goes anymore.
Well, the good news is, we are moved in, and have been for a while now. Life is just hectic! Skyler seems to think she needs a good bout of screaming just about every day, sometimes about 50% of the day. Poor girl has been trying to get her teeth through for nearly 2mos. We are trying to plan our trip to Alaska to visit my family. It will be sooo nice, Skyler will get to meet her greatgrandma& grandpa, her grandpa Larry (my dad), grandpa Ron (my stepdad) uncle Ronnie, lots of other relatives, and of course, see grandma Nancy again.

Skyler's cousin Tyler was born on June 28th, a whopping 8lbs5oz. Skyler hasn't gotten to meet him yet, but I'm sure she will love him. Her awesome aunt Heather let us borrow her bumbo seat and Skyler looks so freaking adorable in it. She is getting -SO- big, over 11lbs now! She came home at a tinsy 4lb 7oz and now she's just so big to us :), what a good eater she is. Well, I suppose I will let pictures do the rest of the talking..
